Active Leadership & Voice
My dedication to GUSD is built on 8 years serving School Site Councils at Rod Kelley, South Valley, and GHS. I’ve also spent 6 years on the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council, advocating for families across all grade levels.
Strategic District Input
I have shaped our district's future through LCAP planning at three schools, the South Valley Middle School remodel, and the 2025 GUSD Strategic Plan. I also represented our community at the 2024 CABE conference alongside staff.
Youth Mentoring & Service
Beyond the boardroom, I’ve coached the GHS FFA Farm Power team for 3 years and spent 2 years as Rucker Elementary’s Santa. These roles show me how district choices impact students, families, and staff every day.
Leadership Throughout Gilroy
My service extends widely across Gilroy. I have spent nearly a decade instructing for Leadership Gilroy and held the roles of treasurer and president for the Gilroy Garlic Festival Association. I am the current president of Visit Gilroy and an active member of the local Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
These positions have provided me with extensive expertise in budgeting, facilities management, and strategic planning. Through this work, I have built deep ties with the people and groups that keep our community vibrant.
Why I am running
I am seeking a seat on the Board because I am deeply committed to giving back and am genuinely excited about the future of GUSD. My years of involvement with our schools provide me with a clear understanding of the complex challenges we face, mixed with the optimism required to seize the opportunities ahead.
My approach to service involves listening intently, asking critical questions, and weighing the facts to work collaboratively with my colleagues. I will be a steadfast advocate for our students and staff, while remaining open to the compromises necessary to progress our district.
After investing my heart and time into Gilroy and our local schools for many years, it would be a distinct honor to represent Trustee Area 4 and serve the entire Gilroy community.
